DEAC MCCASKILL
Deac began his
racing career at the age of 12, racing a 4-cylinder stock car at Wake

cars. Success continued to follow this great start as Deac won his
first race, in only his 6th start, in the 4-Cylinder Division at Wake
County Speedway. Deac became the youngest driver to win in the Limited
Late Model Division at Southern National, in only his first attempt
driving an 8-Cylinder car, at the age of 16.
At 18 years old,
Deac won his first Late Model Stock Car race at Orange County Speedway,
along with finishing 2nd in the points at OCS. That same year, Deac
qualified on the pole out of 128 cars for a race at Richmond
Interntional Raceway, and finished 5th. At 19, Deac became the youngest
driver to win a race a Southern National Speedway.

races this past season. McCaskill’s biggest win of his career came at
Southern National Raceway Park that same year. After earning the Pole

Denny Hamlin for the win. Winning the championship allowed McCaskill to
compete in the Nascar Dodge Weekly Racing Series. With 16 top 10s and 4
wins, he finished 5th in the season points, thus ranking McCaskill 5th
in the region and 10th in the nation among Late Model Stock Car drivers.

Nationwide, Series at O'Reilly Raceway Park with Evernham Motorsports
in the No. 9 Puryear Tanklines Dodge Charger. After starting 36th, and
climbing up to 17th, McCaskill took the lead at halfway with pit
strategy. He led 5 laps and remained in the top 8, on 30 laps older
tires and first non Nextel Cup Series driver, for 35 laps before being
spun by another competitor. McCaskill also attempted to defend his
championship at Southern National Raceway Park and looked to be strong
in achieving yet a third Championship but missing a a few weekends of
twin races in preparation and running of the ORP race dropped McCaskill
out of the championship hunt. McCaskill managed to finish the season
with 4 wins, 14 top 5s, 18 top 10s in 25 races including other tracks
such as South Boston Speedway and Martinsville Speedway where he
finished 9th in the Bailey's 300. McCaskill’s skill also reach outside
driving the racecar to include fabricating the bodies on the racecar
and building his own shocks as learned from Penske Racing School.
